the oddest thing ever has started happening to my ibook. it started about 4 days ago, i noticed there was this small drip of clear looking liquid on the left side of the plastic frame surrounding my ibook monitor. thinking maybe i'd accidently somehow gotten some of the water i was drinking there, i just wiped it off with my finger and forgot about it.

but it happened again, i couple days later. this time i wasn't eating or drinking anything. so my desperate hypothesis this time was that maybe i've somehow spit on the side of the monitor while laughing (??)

but then it happened again this morning, i noticed it about 5 minutes after i turned the ibook on. the exact same drips of clear liquid, in the exact same spot. and this time i *know* it couldn't have been caused by water or my spit. so there's something very peculiar going on. i can't tell if it's coming from inside the ibook's frame, or if it's condensing from the outside. i don't see any noticeable cracks in the plastic... but it doesn't seem like condensation.

i tried to take some photos below, but you can barely see the drip in them (darn lack of manual focus). in real life.. there's one big drip, and then the liquid is sort of smearing around it.

has ANYONE had anything this strange happen to their ibook before? i haven't the slightest idea what it could be, or if i should be concerned...

turn off all the lights. if the drip glows, run away.

seriously, though, there is no material in that area that should be liquid and leaking. your screen is a liquid crystal display, but liquid crystal is not clearis the computer in the same exact spot all of the time? if so, look above and see if anything is leaking above your computer/desk.

weirdness.

Odd. I wonder if it could somehow be related to the green goo that appears to have leaked from my AC adapter plug (in a crevice in the stiffening section after the metal part with the LED).
