Out of no where, my trackpad died. I use an external mouse most of the time, but this will be a real downer for when I'm on the go and just want to use the trackpad.

What does a trackpad that stopped working mean?

Is there a bigger problem coming?

If it stopped all of a sudden and you didn't notice anything before, maybe it is a faulty connector or other hardware part that broke.

Or, somehow it got disabled in system preferences (if this is possible)?

Best call would be to take it to an Apple dealer (hopefully still under warranty or apple care) and have it fixed.

check that the "ignore trackpad when mouse is present" setting is not checked in system preferences. if that doesn't help, boot the machine with OS 9 to see if the problem is OS-related or hardware-related.

Well it's the next day. I just turnned on my computer and the trackpad didn't work.

then I got the e-mail from here telling me you nice people responded and out of no where, the trackpad worked.

Maybe it's just so cold it got stuck.
