There have been many threads asking which one of them is the correct buy. Well here is why i picked the iBook.

I am a college student so price was very important to me. The ibook has almost the same specs as the powerbook. The main difference being MHz and cache. With what I do, and most people that pose this question so, the added performance would not be noticed. The main feature that the Pbook had the I wanted over the iBook was monitor spanning, boom spanning hack.(which works like a charm.) So there goes that. So now we are left with the superdrive. This is more or less a no brainer. I have no need nor did i have the cash for that option. The heat issue was never really a question for me, I almost always have it sitting on a desk or table. The final selling point for me was durability and quality. I heard many stories of the Pbooks denting and warping, not to mention hindges and latches not neing right. I carry my laptop almost everyday. I didnt was to have to stress about it every time I tossed it in my bag. The iBook seems to be more at home in this enviroment.

So thats the why I chose the iBook. Am I happy with my decision? Yes for the most part. The one complaint I have is that shipping these with 256MB of RAM is a joke. I get the beachball alot. I know that maxing out the RAM will fix this but theres that money thing rearing its ugly head again.

I hope this is some use to you guys trying to decide between the two.
