My girlfriend's Lombard has developed a peculiar problem in the past week. When she installed Panther Exposé was working great albeit a little on the slow side. She could use F9, F10, and F11 as the normal Exposé control keys. The volume and brightness controls also worked fine and at the same time. Starting sometime last week however the Exposé control keys stopped working. The volume and brightness controls work but now she has to use fn + F11 in order for Exposé to work. What could have changed for this to happen? My Powerbook's volume and brightness keys work fine but so do the Exposé keys. As far as I know she hasn't changed any keyboard settings in the last week.
For now she just remapped the Desktop key to fn to make it easy to hit from the trackpad. I've looked at uControl to fix the function key mapping but I'm worried it will break the volume and brightness controls. I'm also looking for a fix that doesn't involve any third party programs, it worked fine before but doesn't now. I'd really like to know why that is. Anyone have any ideas?
