The wife and I spent this past weekend in NYC. During our travels, I insisted that we stop by the apple store in soho. It is a very cool place, if you have not been there I suggest you stop by.

Anyway, we were done with our day of shopping....and we were on the N-Train, headding uptown back to our hotel and I noticed the guy in front of me clutching a large box in the distictive apple store, white back-pack bag. It was clearly a new iBook. I asked him: "Hey, whats in the bag?"

He replyed with a toothy grin, a 14" iBook. He explained that it was the first computer he had ever bought. That he was looking at dell, but in the end, the apple was cooler and better.

I was taken by his euphoric glow. I spent the rest of the train ride telling him this and that about iBook and apple in general. You can be sure I told him about macnn.

He was amazed how open and friendly the apple community is! Just thought I would share this story of how the iBook can make the world a better place to be, even in a miserable place like the NYC subway.

Hey, the subway isn't miserable, it's the best form of transportation it is. Sure it's dirty and it's gotten more expensive and most of the time you are crammed in like a bunch of hipsters at a club opening, but it's our fargin' home. After spending a month out in LA stuck in a car five hours a day, I DREAM of the NYC subway.

Nowhere else can you catch up on the news, brush up on lines, eat a sandwich, meet a girl, have a sleep, get home drunk (and safely) and hit any point in the city in fifteen minutes for $2 (less if you max out the usage on you unlim. metrocard.)

I b*tch when the damn thing stops or the service changes at 2am, but christ, I LOVE IT.

can't wait to get home.
