The other day, I touched my trackpad after washing the dishes, and I thought I had adequately dried my hands. The screen went all psychedelic and useless, scaring me to no end, so I shut it off.

A few hours later, I turned the ibook back on and the screen looked more or less normal, but with flickering lines like a bad tv picture. off again.

The next day, I turned it on, it works fine..left it on, let it sleep.

Now, a day or 2 later, I turned the dnaged thing on and the screen does not illuminate at all. It makes the turning-on noise (DOOOOOooonnn) but I can't see anything!

What should I do? What can I do? I really really need this thing to work...

If it's a G3 it could be the logic board, and completely unrelated to your wet hands.

what are the specs on your machine? If you have an apple store nearby you may want to take it in so they can look at it and tell you what exactly it is. also, if it is a G3, take a look at this thread and see if your ibook has any of those symptoms.
