How much ram can a powerbook 17 Rev a 1Ghz have?

is it 1GB or 2GB, cause the spec sheet i have says 1GB, but ppl are telling me 2gb? so which one is it, sigh...

2GB if you use two 1GB sticks, but 1GB sticks are very expansive right now in the market because it's not high in demand. They go around $400 - $500 or so.

Yes, yes, yes--and Apple always specs these with RAM that is available when they ship them. 1 GB SODIMMS are new, so they aren't specced, but there is ample evidence in the forums that they work. YMMV.

This has been talked about on this forum before and tested. The 17inch Powerbook Rev. A will support 2 GB of ram when installed.
