My iBook G3 900MHz came in from repair this friday and when I got it back, it didn't work. I waited one month and one day for it to be repaired and I paid 850 (that's 1080$!) euros for the repair. Apple hardware test crashes the computer, installing programs gives me kernel panic, installing updates gives me kernel panic etc. I've tried to call AppleCare, but the finnish support is always says it's full, and when that tape promises to call me back within 24 hours, it never does. I am not kidding, I've called there about 30 times and never talked to anybody.
I want to ask you people, that is this normal for every iBook owner and should I just accept it? Is this the way that Apple treats it's customers? Is this the marketing campaign that Apple is going to double their marketshare in Finland?
Sorry for being angry, but I'm really, really pissed at the moment. And yes, I am suing them.

you have paid for service you did not receive. call apple finalnd's customer service number and complain in a calm, reasonable manner. ask them to repair your machine again or refund you the money.

Wow.... well to comfort you, you're not the first person its happened to.
I only had my iBook 600 G3 for 14 months (almost to the day) and my hard drive quit on me. Nothing like the disconcerting sounds of 'click - click - click' hard drive seek error.
Anyways... the 'Mac Genious' at the Apple store wanted almost 700 bucks to fix my book... (learned my lesson why to by applecare at purchase). I elected to pass on that <sarcasm> amazing offer.
However tae, you ARE entitled to 90 day warranty on all parts and service on YOUR repair. If you cant get thru to the Finnish AppleCare support, maybe try calling AppleCare Customer support here in the USA? The strings of Corporate arbitrations seem to work alot better than getting Apple's Corporate Legal hound dogs involved.
Just my .02... but just to let you know you're not the first to be burned by crappy AppleCare.

Sorry to hear about your problems, but have you tried to call them early? In my experience that's the best time to call. That was an awful expensive service bill. I hope you get the machine fixed.
[edit:] BTW: Your symptoms sound a lot like ram problems. But I can't see how that could be overlooked by the repair folks.

I know it's too late, but you might have wanted to consider buying a new one instead. If I were you I would want my money back for the repair and get a new one with the G4, which is definetly better than the G3. Anyway, I hope you get it done in no time.
