you can compare xBenchmarks of peoples comps and decide for yourself. i hope you have some time tho, because often you have to look for a while to find comparable amounts of ram.
better than nothing i say.

If your lookin not to spend too much I would say go with the 933 but I personally think resale value would be much greater if you had a 1ghz processor. Its a tough call but I dont think the 67mhz is going to be that noticable. If you could afford it get as much computer as you can, you'll never regret goin more but you will getting less, thats why I went with my powerbook instead of the ibook. I was this close to joining your ibook community but having the money and lookin at the PB in action made my decision for me. In short get the 1ghz, if you wanna save money because u need to get the 933. Both are awesome machines. Hope to hear about whichever you pick soon.

Going with the 1GHz model would be a waste. It provides the worst value in the entire iBook lineup. And I disagree that 66MHz will make much of a difference in resale value over the 933.
I would just BTO an iBook 933 with a 60GB hard drive. That way, you save $150 and only lose 66MHz. Much better value, IMO.

Here's a speed comparison of the iBooks:
http://www.macspeedzone.com/html/rev...-933-1.0.shtml
My personal buying strategy at this point would be to get a laptop that's adequate for tiding you over while waiting for the G5 laptops to come out. In other words, get the cheapest laptop that you can live with for 1 to 1.5 years (you're going to want to wait for the G5 laptop tech reports from the pioneering early adopters--the guinea pigs who are so kind as to debug the first generation models.) You know you're going to be salivating over the G5 laptops once they come out, and you're going to be wishing you'd saved the money to buy one.
Of course, this assumes that you'd be squirreling away they money you'd save by buying the cheaper iBook. If you're not constitutionally able to save money, then buy the most capable laptop you can afford right now.

Thats a bogus link, my powerbook is stock and all I did was add 512mb for $108 (which is about the same cost for the ibook ram which can be upgraded to only 640) from crucial, and my 12" scores a consistent 101.85 on the recent X-Bench 1.1.3. With twice the L2 cache, a cost efficient 128mb of more RAM (assuming you'd max out your iBook), video cards that are comparable without one being all that much better then the other, and not to mention a 66mhz difference, there is no way an iBook should score higher.
