My first ibook, yet I have a feeling that my 14.1" G4 933mhz should display better text. It is not really blurred, but almost bit mapped. The desktop file names look better with a label than without. Any suggestions?

have you checked your font smoothing settings? try play around with the "best for flat screen settings" setting (not sure if that's the name. have a swedish osx) and the font smoothing threshold.

if it's not that, maby you could post a screenshot?

the text displays that way due to the nature of the LCD display. In general, and reading forums like Macnn in partuclar, I've found that enlarging the text helps a lot. For me comic sans MS font, slightly enlarged works well for me on a word processor. Then, for formal letters I'll convert it all to Times just before I print.
