Actually, i'm just trying to figure out what ram specs are compatible with the G4 iBook (14", if size matters, but i thought it was the moti... nevermind).

Ok, since I'm assuming apple likes to make everything really expensive and hard to find, I'm guessing I can't do too much with the 200pin requirement?

I was told that i could get either pc2100 or pc2700.

the rest of the relevant details:

512mb
DDR233
pc2100/2700 (?)
so-dimm 200pin
sdram.

yarr.

i heard about the 1gb modules, but they are pretty expensive. Though i really really want it. Are they on sale yet? har har har.

So, are those specs set in stone? Clearly, i am not wise in the ways of rams, and jamming them together in incompatible lovin' seems like a good idea to me, cause them 184pin be cheaper! Like. A lot cheaper.

Anyone?

Actually on the spec data sheet from your PB, you can tell which ram to get.

BTW:
DDR266 = PC2100
DDR333 = PC2700

I think it should be the DDR266 (PC2100), but check with the specs just to be sure.

If you get a great deal on PC2700 RAM, you can go for it, even though the iBook only requires PC2100-faster RAM is not a problem.

You need to watch such things as chip density and latentcy-the CL X.X number on the RAM.

Crucial has a 512 stick of the correct type and density for $95 with free shipping. Go look...
