I ordered a 12" powerbook at the end of December, I just tripped over the cord today and the plug pulled out and bent itself out of shape. It will no longer work and I have purchased applecare. Can someone please tell me if applecare will cover this. Thanks.

Unfortunately AppleCare doesnt cover accidental damage. Is it the plug itself that is bent out of shape, or the bit inside of your computer?? If the former, you can get a new plug for 70bucks or so.

Also check your house contents insurance, you may have accidental cover for things like this.

I actually took out Laptop insurance cover in the UK to make sure my laptop was covered against anything. Damage, Theft, Loss, etc all covered, which gives me real piece of mind when I travel with my PowerBook.

Same here. I took out insurance with Nationwide. I haven't claimed myself yet but they seem to understand laptop issues and it's relatively cheap.

It cost me £91 for £2000 worth of cover.

I made sure I covered the Laptop, AE Card, Memory, Case, Mouse, etc.

I dropped my old Lombard down our stairs. Biiig dent in the case and smashed the LCD. Home insurance coughed up for a new 12" PB no questions. Zenith insurance in the UK - recommended.

Now me and my wife have matching 15inch TiBook and baby 12". Aaaah lovely!
