im looking to install an airport card on my friends g3 ibook,
where can i get instructions on how do do this because i dont see a slot for it, on the bottom of the computer.

It is right under the keyboard. Just lift the notches in the upper corners and pull the keyboard back. Be careful of the ribbon though.

are the notches the little squares on teh keyboard?

also can i put and extreme card in it, or do i have to use a regular aiport.

what os is the minimal to make and extreme card work?

Only G4 iBooks support Airport Extreme cards. Any version of OS X, as well as OS 9 support Airport (I don't know about OS 8.x).

Instructions for installing the card and memory are printed on the bottom of the keyboard. You'll see it when you lift the keyboard off.
