my 12" powerbook was picked up from my house at 5pm by airborne on monday. i got it back at 9am today.

they replaced the lcd.
half of my screen was grey, instead of white. at first we (me and the apple guy on the phone) reset the pmu, which fixed it, a week later it kept getting worse. i finally phoned them and they sent me a box and said it will take 5 to 7 working days.

i am so happy, and impressed right now.

I had an iBook that went in 3 times for logic board failures.

Each time it was returned within one day. I read a great article (but I don't think this is the case) where UPS has computer repair shops built into the major hubs. They pick up the computer, bring it to a hub, fix it, and then send it back. And this is typically done much quicker than any manufacturer could possibly offer.
