On my TiBook G4 1Ghz the 'About this Mac' dialogue says this is a 1GHz CPU. But when I open Virtual PC > About Virtual PC > Info tab the clock speed is always rated as 667 MHz independent of the processor performance settings in the energy saver dialogue (highest / reduced). The same happens when I use phpSysInfo 2.1: Chip MHz is always rated as 667 Mhz.

So is there a way to determine the actual clock speed directly from the command line?

Code:
sysctl hw.cpufrequency
supposedly not 100% reliable either, though.
