Hello all,

After I had dropped my pismo my pismo failed to charge the battery. I bought a new sound/powerboard and now my pismo charges again... Fine you would think, but now my sound is gone. The preferencepane doesn't show input or output devices. Also I can't put the computer to sleep and the pulsating light is no longer functioning.

After searching all over the internet (which is quite big as you might know ) I found this on google groups...

"The pismo doesn't have sound cards. The sound is processed on the motherboard. What's probably happening is that the sockets on the back of your motherboard are slightly out of alignment with the motherboard (becase the computer has been dropped at some point) and are losing contact with it. "

I don't get it... Can anybody explain this to me? Or does anybody have a good idea what to do?

not sure if this will help, but my pismo also occasionally loses sound-in capabilities and the prefpane shows no inputs avail. I can overcome this problem by zapping the pram and then the sound-in works fine. Hope this helps.

btw - to zap pram, restart computer and hold down the "p", "r", option, and apple key together until you hear machine restart a second time.
