My (supposed) super-protective Brenthoven bag slipped off my shoulder and fell about 3.5 ft to the ground. Evidently, it hit just right, and/or the corners are not as well protected as the front and sides.
Except for the ding, no other apparent malfunctions. Whew!
My first thought was to take it to my car repair people to pull the dent out. Oh well, my wife says it adds character. I'm sure my PC laptop would have cracked something fierce. Love the aluminium.

If you can't look at this adding "character" and individuality and if you are a bit "handy", you might try to use a small vice or clamp to push in on the aluminum frame and try to reverse the ding back into place. Taking it to jewerler might shed some light or to an Apple store - maybe go to Apple first. But, I think you run low risk trying to gently push this back into place.

Looking at the top down picture, the first thing that came to my mind was to get a hard rubber ball and gently roll it along the bent edge, gradually increasing pressure. You won't have to worry about scratching it that way, and you can increase the contact area of the ball by increasing the pressure.

Thanks to both of you for your responses.
I am fine with this adding character and individuality to my PB. I just wish it wasn't only 4 weeks old.
I've tried bending the frame back in place, but it doesn't like to stay. I've screwed in the VGA adapter and that easily bends the metal back in place, but even after leaving it that way all nite, it still bows back out when I take the adapter off.
No big deal, really, but thanks again for taking a look.

I did the same thing with my 17", only I did it by falling off of a bicycle. My renter's insurance covered it, excluding the $250 deductible. You might want to consider getting it fixed even though you can live with it, b/c if anything goes wrong in the future that would otherwise be covered by AppleCare, the first thing the Apple tech is going to say when you bring it in is, "Oh, it's been dropped--AppleCare won't cover this."
