Bad day for LCD display...

When I got my third new 15" LCD from Apple, I was ecstatic to find no white spots, stuck pixels, or uneven illumination.
As time wore on, however, the illumination problem reared its ugly head. Some days it's better than others, and I decided it's not bad enough to send it back yet.
Then today - I thought I noticed a hot spot (reminiscent of the white spots) so I ran PixelCheck to get the solid color screens, and to my dismay I found what looks like it will grow into a full-blown white spot someday.
Shortly after that, I found a small cluster of pixels (3 x 3, with a corner missing) that appeared to be "stuck" gray. I knew something didn't look right so I changed the resolution of my display, and they MOVED (lol). Putting the computer to sleep or logging out / in didn't solve the problem, but restarting it did. Does anyone have any idea what that could have been? Some kind fluke with the GUI, or with the GPU?
Anyway if that wasn't enough, just now I discovered a green stuck-on pixel. What the heck? I guess I (foolishly) assumed if the display didn't come with them, they weren't going to grow on their own (even though that's what happens with the white spots...) It most definitely wasn't there when I ran PixelCheck this morning.
Why is my display going to crap all at once? I haven't done anything differently to it than any other day / week / month (but it is still below freezing here in PA lol). Should I be afraid this is only the beginning? What can I do differently (I already use a ScreensavRz when I carry it arround)? One stuck pixel, one faint white spot, and intermittent uneven illumination aren't enough of a problem individually to demand a new display... but are all of them together worth a call to AppleCare?
I paid a lot of money for this thing and use it for graphics work every day. What's the deal with the LCDs? Did Apple get cheap on this revision and go with a different supplier? Or is there some fundamental design flaw?
Well that was long, but thanks for anything anyone might have to say about it.

Since there are not so much suppliers of TFT-displays and the 15" has the same resolution as the admirable Tiīs (their only serious flaw was the paint flaking prob) i guess itīs a general design flaw with the display casing of the Alīs.

They seem like nice bright quality aside from the defects.
Just sent mine in for the second time on monday. This time for uneven illumination. Hopefully all is fine.
I'm ticked off that the return flight it was on was diverted to Chicago because of fog in Milwaukee so I have to wait another day.

Unbelievable. Today there is a second green stuck pixel and the white spot is getting much more serious.
Has anyone had a problem with getting the approval to send something like this back to Applecare, only to receive the dreaded "within Apple specifications" letter in return?
That's my fear at this point - that I'd give it up for another week and get nowhere.

Ugh...I wish I hadn't done the pixel test. I have one little iffy spot that I hadn't noticed before, but now I can't stop looking at it

Yes, people have had their PBs returned with uneven illumination, saying the machine was within spec.
There is currently NO fix for uneven illumination.
One poster on Apple discussions had a different fix than everyone else, so maybe Apple is trying something new. Who knows?

I think 4 stuck pixels is in specs. If you have more than that, they should replace it.
