Ok I was messing with her while she was typing on her 15.2 AL and i hit her H key a little hard from behind her and now its all bent upward. How can I remove it and reset it? I gentyly tried to pop it off but i don't wanna force it. Her old ibook keys poped right off but i'm not feeling that with this machine. Any info would be great.

OK, there is just *way* too much information here. I don't want to know what you are doing with her H key from behind or in front.

What you most likely did was forced part of the H key out. Like someone said ealier, try pushing the H key back down, sometimes that will put the key back in place. I've pop one of my key out before and put back in by doing that.

Here's what you probably did... you probably hit it so hard that you popped it out. And chances are, that you tried to nudge it back, and it still stays up on one side. that's because you broke off one of the prongs that hangs on the the "scissor."

The scissor is this.,.. imagine an "x", or better yet... a keyboard stand.. the legs, or the x, squashes down, as the key is pressed and goes back up after it's pressed... I know, bad explanation...

But anyway, your plastic key has prongs that hold onto part of the scissors.. you probably pressed it (or hit it) hard enough to break off one of these prongs. you can gently pop off the key to check this.

How to fix this? you don't. the temporary fix would be to take a different key (like the "enter" key by the arrows which no one uses) and put it there temporarily. The cost to replace the keyboard... well, you don't wanna know. But, if you call Apple, they will probably just send you a new "H" key... be sure to ask for a scissor too just in case. Better yet, if you are near an apple store, bring it in.. they'll pop one in right away if they have it.

good luck.

In my experience, solving problems with girlfriend's H-key is hitting her G-spot.

That usually does the trick

Dude, you are a fool for doing that, but - if the key is indeed broken, just grab a new keycap from somewhere like pbparts.com; http://www.pbparts.com/shop/akbp.html.

Have fun,

George

Liquidity: Please, please, we need to know how this turned out. Are you still together with the powerbook? Is the GF still a peripheral device?

Ah well, mending a broken heart might be as simple as buying a new keyboard...
