im usibng my ibook with wireless internet at the moment
my friend has a powerbook without an airport card but does have an ethernet cable
how would i connect the two to both use the internet connection?

Any ethernet cord will work. Those laptops have ports that can use either cross-over or straight through cables. Just make sure to change your connection setting on both laptops to the ethernet port.

And turn on Internet Connection Sharing in the Sharing PrefPane, let's not forget that small detail.

You say you've got a wireless internet connection. That's got to mean that there's a wireless router in there somewhere. Why doesn't the PB just connect to the router? What router is it?

PS: If you're connecting to some unprotected wireless connection somewhere in your neighborhood, or if you've hacked into it, then that's a different story. Wouldn't give advice in that situation, personally.
