I recently purchased an external firewire HD to replace my USB 2.0 external HD. Having switched to Mac recently, the USB is too slow. My problem is I can't get the Mac to recognize the firewire EHD. I'm running OS X 10.2.8. I'm going to the firewire website and D/L drivers, mayby that will help.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Now, to address your question: Is the drive formatted? If it's a new drive you may have to format it. Go to Disk Utility or Apple Sytsem Profiler to see if your computer is really not seeing it.

Try what ""wataru said"" other than POSTING SOME WHERE ELSE...

Didn't the HD come with a Driver CD, if not lookup the maker on the Web and download from there WebSite, they should also have some instruction there.

I've been watching your post, can't help too(Because alot of your comments are always GO SOMEWHERE ELSE).

As far as assuming your Asian, Please look at your Posting Tag on the bottom of your Page. I've talk to the Asians on this Web board and other on the Web. From your Posting Tag(bottom of page)they assume you could be Asian, but when Reading your Post they believe you aren't... People don't really look at your login name, but when they do they will also assume your asian(speaking of the Asians I've talked to).

Please remove your Posting Tag at the bottom of your page. Us Asians have spent our lifes trying to be fair and walk the middle ground. People like you hiding behind US is something that any MAN/WOMAN wouldn't DO... SO GROW-UP...

I'm sorry, I didn't realize I needed your permission to use my signature and choose my username. Oh wait, that's right! I don't! I really don't care if you don't like my signature, and I really don't care if you don't like my username. That's your problem.

If you don't like my behavior, well then that's a completely different issue. I tell people to post elsewhere because this is a forum about iBooks; there are many, far better places to ask the questions some people post here. I am trying to keep things on-topic.

I have never claimed to be Asian. I have never "hidden behind 'you.'" You worry that my behavior reflects poorly on you, but I think most people are smart enough not to take the actions of one as representative of an entire group. You act as if there are no asshole Asians. Reality check: There are just as many assholes among Asians as among any other group. But remember: I have never claimed to be Asian. In fact, whenever it comes up, I am always honest about my ethnicity.

Next time you have a problem with me, please send a PM instead of bitching to the whole world. You could have brought your complaint to me in a mature fashion, but instead you start kicking and screaming. I think you need to grow up.
