My powerbook seems more hot than normal?

It never used to be this hot, so i shut it down for the night, and the heat issue came back. Anyone here know what to do?

My PB17 Rev. A had the same problem a few weeks ago-the fan was going as soon as I woke the PB from sleep.
The whole thing stopped after a week and I´m back to normal.

I have no clue as to why it behaved that way.
Outside temperatures where normal-not like last summer.

how could you turn the fan on? This laptop hurts

The fan kicks on by itself and is not controlled by the user. Couple of suggestions.

1- run top -us2 in the terminal and see if anything is maxing out the system - how much of the processor is idle? Could be a program misbehaving and eating up all of your free cycles.

2 - Run ThermographX and see the exact temperature at your various sensors.

3 - Try a Podium Coolpad. Nothing like ventilation to keep the fans off.

4 - Be thankful you have a Powerbook. Remember the story of that guy who actually BURNED a rather sensitive body part with his Dell?
