OK, I have a walstreet powerbook G3 and after a few mintues the display develops a gray line that goes across it. I want to bring it into a apple authorized place to get it fixed but they want to know which part is bad so they can order one (they have a connection through a old used parts company). Could it be the logic board, video card, some cable??

Please help!

If they expect you to figure out which part is bad, they aren't worth a flip. Take it somewhere else. It's their job to tell you which part is bad--not the other way around. That's bad customer service.

This is coming straight from an Apple Certified Technician (me).


Without any more information or without seeing the machine, I'm leaning towards the LCD.
