My ibook was sent in for the logic board fix a couple weeks ago. i called yesterday to see what was going on (online it didnt have any updates for over a week). The guy said they're waiting on more logic boards to come in and they dont know when they're getting more, could be a couple weeks. He then said if theres no change on the online status page by friday to call back because it will then count as 'excessive repair time' and they'll 'try to make things right.'

Anyone have this happen before? what did they do/give you? a new powerbook to replace the ibook (ha ha)?

wow, dreams really do come true. I doubt they'll do anything like this for the logic board repair program. It sounded like they got hit with more repairs than they were prepared for and ran out of parts.

I hope they do you right. A new G4 iBook would be sweet. Post back when all is said and done to let us know. Good luck.

Called today (they said to call back friday/today). They're putting out a request to look for a logic board in any of their warehouses and overnight it to the repair place (called something like 'allocation request'). I'm supposed to call back tuesday (give them 48 hours, i.e today and monday). The repair person immediately bounced me over to the customer care person. I guess i have to try and borrow a friend iBook again for warcraft 3 night.

Got the iBook back before i had to call again. Its having more problems. When using it off the battery for a little while (maybe an hour) the screen will go black, but comes back on when the power supply is plugged in. It even goes black when the battery meter says there is still over an hour left. Also the screen has started to flash to black and then flash back to normal. Did they not replace my logic board with a working one? i guess i may have to send it in again if they didnt fix it. the laptop also doesnt sleep anymore when the lid is closed.
