I tried doing a search on the subject, as I vaguely remember it being brought up before, but came up with nothing relevant.

Here's my question, will a 1 Gig chip work in an iBook G4 running Panther? I know that it iwll fit, but I think I remember someone on macnn mentioning that Panther "deactivated" the additional memory & even though there is a 1 gig stick in there, Panther would only recognize your memory as 640 MB. Can anyone confirm/dispute this?

Thanks,
Mark

Pat,

Thanks, that is the thread I remembered. So does anyone know if you can use the larger chips under Panther? Seems like the discussion kind of ended with the guy's RAM not being recognized.
