Hi guys,
Just a brief remainder of how lucky we, mac users, are.
So, I've been using an LCII connected to my lab's HPLC for five years. I did never replace the computer since I never got a single crash, it had a 2 GB external HD (plenty of room), and why change what works.
So, I'm writting my thesis and I needed a buch of chromatograms from my early experiments. i usually use a floppy, but since the documents accounted for 42 MB, I did not want to waste my morning.
So, I got a crossover cable, restarted the LCII (nobody is going to believe me, but what the heck, the LCII has being running 24/7 since I arrived to this lab in 1999, never turn off or crashed) and networked both computers.
42 MB of data being transfered right now.
It seems that Mac "generations" do mess together just fine
