This is probably a stupid question, but this is my first laptop, and I havent had it long. How do I use F9 and F10 for Expose? they just adjust my keyboard backlighting! Thanks.

Go to your system preferences, either by clicking the apple in the top left corner or the icon with a grey light switch and an apple logo on your dock. You should see an expose button, click it and you could customize all of your expose commands. The presets aren't working because your F9 and F10 keys are dedicated to changing your backlight, they can be overridden with a certain program but I can't remember what it's called or where to get it from, try a search on it. Hope this helped out.
NOW YOU SEE ME! 2.4 MBP and 2.0 MBP (running ubuntu)

Congrats on ur excellent choice in laptops .

I think the prog iREZ is talking about is 'FnSwitch' and you can find it at versiontracker.com

I could be wrong but I believe thats the prog he means...
15" Al PB G4, 1.25GHz, 80GB HD, 512 RAM,
JBL Creature-Silver, iPod 20GB, Lacie D2 160GB
Switcher and Mac Addicted for life.....

If you use a version of Panther earlier than 10.3.3, then yes, fnSwitch will do the trick. However, now the good news... 10.3.3 corrects this little problem. Look for the Keyboard and Mouse preference pane under System Preferences, and you will see a box to checkmark called "use custom actions for the F1-F12 keys". Apparently Apple thinks using the function keys as, well, function keys, is "custom". Now to use the brightness, audio, etc. functions you"ll have to press the fn key on the lower left. But Exposé will now work normally, which to my mind is far more useful!
