My powerbook was crushed by a giant seqouia tree. It works except for the display. How can I configure it to automatically mirror displays so I can use a monitor? Is there some XML file I need to edit?

I don't really have an answer to your question, but...

How the hell did your PowerBook get crushed by a tree?

What model PowerBook? (F7 only works on more recent models; clamshell mode is pretty universal: just hook up a display, mouse, and keyboard, power it up, close the lid, and then wake it by the external keyboard.)

P.S. Did the insurance company call the tree an "act of God" or did they give you a new car?

Clamshell mode sounds perfect.

The insurace covered the car!

And the stuff inside was covered by various other insurances.

Good to know, should a giant tree decide to attack my car (why the tree would have a grudge against my puny old Civic I dunno, heh). Glad to hear it all worked out.
