I would suggest downloading a few manuals and having all tools before even starting this. One should have all the diagrams before beginning. So put all of the screws back and hold off until you are ready.

While your rather cavalier spirit could be commended, I agree with Tomster that you really should get a little more details before you proceed.
Anyways, could I be nosey and ask why are you removing the display?

no manuals needed... this machine was condemned by the insurance co because it was crushed by a giant seqouia tree.
some of it still functions, but definitely not the display!
I've got it open now and need a tiny torq screwdriver to get the screen off... I wonder if it will function with the screen off? I wonder how to configure it to display only to the external display? hmmm....

Torx wrench if you need one; believe I got mine either from Radio Shack or Home Depot in USA. Keep us posted on your progress.

Well, I have been trying to get the display off my 17-incher too, to no avail. Are there any schematics out there? I can only find tutorials on how to access the hard drive, superdrive etc, but nothing about screen disassembly.
I've gotten me a set of Torx screwdrivers, so the tools are all there.
Oh, and hello forum people.

The 1.33GHz manual works. Couldn't get the 1.0.
Its fiddly or I'd explain the procedure here.
