I would like to buy ram for it and a new hrd drive and take out the flopy is that possible and stick in a optical drive or is it to old. My screen is dead so I think I will just eather replace the screen or use a external monitor and If i image 10.3 will it run on it even thoguh its not a g3. I don't know. Holla.

If by 500 series, you mean something like a 520 or a 540c, forget about it unless you want to restore it as a project. No way OS X will run on a 68040 LC.

For $50 you can get a 5300ce, much faster.
