I really need some advice on which one I should buy. Money is definately an issue, but I also want to make absolutely sure that I get what I need. I will be using this mostly for graphics (Photoshop, Maya, etc) video (FCP, etc) and audio (Cubase, Reason, etc) Will the Rev.A be fast enough for this kind of use, or will the Rev.B be significantly faster? Right now I'm looking at a Rev.A with 640MB ram and a 48GB 5400rpm hd for $1575 CND, no warranty. Would I be better off getting a refurb'd unit from Apple, or go for the Rev.B? Advice is appreciated..

Just visited Apple's website, no more refurb'd.. what's the likelyhood there will be an announcement for new powerbooks that will drop the price of the Rev.B?

This issue in some form or another has been covered a million times already in the forums. On that note I'll help answer the question once again.
The rev A would probably be fast enough for what you are doing but it won't have some of the newer features of the rev b for example USB 2. If you get an external hard drive for secondary storage USB 2 will help a great a great deal. Also many of the new devices are also USB 2. The 1GHz G4 will also help out as well. A faster processor will help you out almost as much as the RAM will. The other thing about the rev A is the concern for heat. They get mighty hot while the rev b seems to not have the same type of heat issues as the rev A even though it still gets a bit warm.
I'm sure you could get a refurbed Rev B for a good price.
