Does anyone know if the following 40 gig harddrive will fit in a orange clamshell ibook?

Fujitsu 40GB 4200RPM Notebook Hard Drive, Model MHT2040AT, OEM Drive Only

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...012&depa=0

my old orange ibook still has the original 3 gig drive which is just too small for Panther...and for only 100 bucks I can get a 40 gig drive...but will it fit?

If it were me, I would look for a different drive. It is only 4200 RPM. With your processor only being 300MHz and 4MB for video you will need to find a way to increase speed. You would be surprised how much of a difference a faster drive would make in your iBook.

Agree. The iBook is hard to open. So use a drive that is fast and big enough for a long time.
I also have heard bad things about Fujitsu Notebook drives concerning reliability. Check this first. I have good experiences with ibm/hitachi travelstars.

If you need help look here . This manual helped me a lot with my blueberry ibook.
