I just had the most wonderfull experience that demostrated that my TiBook can still do "it's thing" despite being nearly 2 yo.
While this is happening I have the following appications running in the background: MSN Messenger, iChat, QS, NewNewsWire Lite, Mail, Safari.
So, I am playing Warcraft III on the Battle.net and my dad comes in wanting to check his e-mail etc. (his first time using a Mac!!!), since I am just chatting I put Warcraft in window mode ... goto Preferences, create an account for him, enable fast user switching ... switch to his account (he liked the 3d switch thingy) and leave everything runnin on mine (including warcraft etc.) ... he is done 30 mins later, logs off and I log back in and check the terminal to see how my lovely TiBook performed: AMAZING!

Great Story. I'm sure he will be using your Mac more often. You might have to fight for time on it. Great Story.

That just shows that mac doesn't get outdated
so quickly (which is good news for some like
me who just switched).
One of the things that where really frustrating
where that the portable pc's really got outdated
quickly...and if not..(or) they fell apart from
beeing really cheaply built before that time.
The powerbook I already own seems rock solid
in its build - and despite beeing "only" 1.33 ghz
fast...it's smoother to use than my 1.8 ghz pc
that even has more ram and a bigger GFX card.
nice..

I like older hardware. It seems as though Motorola's slowness worked to our advantage - since Macs were stuck at 500 MHz for so long, a lot of people ended up buying ones of that speed. So Apple was forced to make OS X run well even on a 500 MHz machine.
I'm sure happy for all the optimizations, because I have the mother of all stop-gap machines... a dual 450. These were the ones that were so underwhelming when they came out, but they turned out to be excellent in the long run because of OS X taking advantage of AltiVec and dual processors.

I should also mention that I last restarted it for RAM (I got 1Gb for it) and it was used for some heavy dude Warcraft III play ever since
During the entire time OS X stayed smooth and responsive ... I could not tell (neither could my dad) that there was a 2nd user with a s***load of apps running. Since I didn't have the time, my dad's account had all "default" OS X eyecandy too ... it was funny to watch him use a Mac for the first time.
Hehe, yesterday I found myself playing W3 with a few images open in PS in the background (I hid PS and completely forgot about it) ... never noticed.
Yes, I have to say I just love my TiGigaBook I hope to use it for another year or so ... then Power/iSomething G5.

Hehe, a couple of my friends have hardware envy over my TiBook ... and one of them (my W3 partner) has a very nice Sony VIAO P4 2.8 / 512 / 15" he just bought.

For all the raw computing power of the G5, there is nothing that impresses people more than the fluidity and beauty of a Powerbook running Panther (mine is a 1-year old 1GHz 17-inch, but the same applies)......

i sure appreciate my G4 PB 800, close to 2 years old. i started interning at a printshop that has a G4 yikes/sawtooth, a G4 quicksilver and an iMac SE (700 MHz). i use the imac. took me hours to configure it right. seems to work fine though, even with stock 256MB ram, running 10.3.3. i haven't pushed it yet to see what it would take to make it freeze up but i usually have mail, i/m, photoshop, illustrator, quark and acrobat open. screen sucks, looks like a bubble after you're used to flat lcd's.
