My computer a lot now will change the wallpaper I set and move my documents on my desktop around when I do normal computer tasks.

It will just randomily do it and revert back to old desktops and move my icons all around in random order.

-- Is this an indication of a bigger problem?

it means you should post this in the os x forum cos it aint ibook related.

repair permissions? does this only happen in the finder>? did you try and delete the finder prefs?
