I'm looking for a utility which can read and copy Boot ROM data (OS 9 or X).
Also I'm looking for a few Boot ROM versions (From Apple System Profiler):

PBG4 400MHz, 500MHz, 550MHz;
PBG3 Pismos, Lombards and Wallstreets with CPU upgrades fitted (Any upgrade, please give details);
Any Mac running a PPC7410, 750FX or 750GX, any speed (Please give details of system (Should include some G4 towers, Cubes, and iBooks));

Thanks guys!

Do you think that, just maybe, this sounds like stealing, namely Apple's intellectual property stored in their boot code? What do you hope to accomplish here?

I don't need to see the code, just to transfer it from one place to another.
I am considering attempting to build a DIY CPU upgrade for my PBG3.
Powerlogix and other people simply swap one chip for another on the daughter card.
But the new chip doesn't work, without the right ROM.

There is no profit to made by me, just trying to save a few bucks and have some fun in the process.

In the unlikely event that I should succeed, it would be far too fiddly to be worth trying to make any more of these in order to sell them.

If you still don't trust me, maybe someone could let me know the numbers on the ROM chip of a Pismo upgrade of some sort.
Can't offend anyone with that info.

Well, the PowerLogix G4 upgrade for Lombards had an EEPROM chip on them, and you were supposed to run a special utility they supplied which made a copy of the Boot ROM somewhere before taking the old daughtercard out, then the computer would turn off, and you swapped boards, and turned the machine on, and the boot ROM would be copied to the EEPROM chip.

I would have thought that the G4 needed a different instruction set or something.
If only slightly to allow for altivec.

That would be great. I wouldn't need to change it....
