I have two Pismos, built from parts with no screens.
Both will start from an OS 9 CD.
At least one won't start from an OS 10.2 CD.
This one seems incapable of seeing either my 8.6, 4GB HD or 10.3.2, 30GB HD when installed.
The other wouldn't even finish booting from CD when the 30GB HD was in place.

I know Pismos won't start from 8.6, but it should see the drive.
I have tried two HD cables as well, so its not that.

Both machines were built from used parts, many of which were untested.
Is this a logic board issue?

It seems odd, that two boards would experience this same problem (I've never heard of it anywhere else, with other Pismos).
One machine refused to boot from CD when a HD was connected. PRAM reset solved that though.
Have you seen other Pismos do this then?

If there was or is a bad hard disk connected to each logic board, the drive can pooch the board. In this case, it may have pooched two boards in the same way, and no matter what combination of drives/boards you try it won't work.
