Anyone else experiencing this? I have a headset (Labtec Axis 302), which used to work before, that doesnt register anything when plugged into the line in. When I use the built in mic the speech volume bar jumps up and down, like a working mic should.

I upgraded to 10.3.3, I think this was working with original panther, and suddenly stopped. The only thing I can think of that I might have done is installing this application called iVisit, which allows me to talk to my friend on his PC. I am not sure when it stopped working because I have kinda put this off for a while.

I am running a 1ghz albook with panther 10.3.3 with 782 megs of RAM. Any ideas?

So the mike used to work on the AlBook, and now it doesn't?

Check the Sound preferences pane, presumably it's not set to the input you want.

I also found that the Apple mic that comes with the Apple Studio B&W does not work with my 17" PB (10.3.3)

Yup. When audio-in reappeared (after its brief disappearance during the Digital Audio G4 and TiBook era), it was no longer PlainTalk, but just line-in.
