I bought my Power book just over a year ago, i had noticed a bit of battery degredation over time, but suddenly my battery has become useless i cant disconnect it for more than 10 mins, with out it shutting down, oddly enough it doesn't even warn me im running on reserve power like it used to it just shuts down. And the adapter light stays amber to indicate charging for 20 mins or so, telling me that maybe the battery just refuses to charge to full potential.

anyway i have no idea help me!!!

Did you try reseting the PMU? Sounds like a corrupted power manager. Check Apple support for the exact procedure for reseting as they differ between Powerbook lines. Or, just tell us which Powerbook you have.

1. If the computer is on, turn it off.
2. Reset the power manager by simultaneously pressing and then releasing Shift-Control-Option-power on the keyboard. Do not press the fn (Function) key while using this combination of keystrokes.
3. Wait 5 seconds.
4. Press the power button to restart the computer.
