ok now that Apple released new powerbooks,
I wonder if I can upgrade the DVD-R to 4x.

I burn a lot of DVDs and the 2X is a real drag.

i'm sure you could buy a drive from somewhere and install it, but an external firewire drive would be a better idea.

i have one from lacie, 8x for dvd-r, which i use to "cough" back up my dvds.
