Typical story. I needed a laptop three months ago. I knew the Powerbooks were way behind everything else so I figured Apple would do some updating. I waited and waited, even when the numerous next Tuesday rumors proved untrue I still waited. On April 6, I just couldn't wait any longer. All of the rumors sites had stopped putting a time table on the Powerbook updates so I took the plunge. That was 13 days ago.

Question: Is the return policy 10 or 14 days. See, the salesman told me 10 days, but in the past, I've been able to return things for up to 14. Is there any online documentation of this?
Thanks.

If you bought it from an Apple Store, it will say on your sales receipt under the product. Just remember they charge a restocking fee.

Thanks. 10 days it is. No way to get around it. I bought it three days too early. It's still a fine machine, I just hate knowing that I bought a nine month old laptop 13 days before it was updated for the same price as the updated one.

10 business days. Aren't you still within that period?

But I don't know that the upgrade is worth the restocking fee, frankly.

It does indeed say 10 business days. And its been 9 business days. On my receipt, however, it says Return no later than April 16. Could it be that it was an Apple Store in a mall, so it is open every day?

I'm contemplating the same thing. I purchased a 1ghz 12" Superdrive pb last week and received it last friday. Is it worth exchanging for the new 12" that was released today. I'm wondering if that 32 mb difference in graphics is going to be noticeable.

I'd always do the upgrade. On the 12" what is the restock fee? $190? I think having the newer machine will be worth $190 come time to sell it.

My sister just bought a machine on the 8th, she did it w/o consulting me. Her only gripe about the machine was the graphics card. I have called her to let her know, and strongly encourged her to call and see if she could get some kind of monitory compensation or even return it. However, she did not order a stock machine, she put more ram in it (again, did not consult me) and upped the HD size. Oh, and lets not forget that she had to pay extra to up the hd from a 40 to 80gb drive and bought the APE card, which is now standard. All this really upped the price on the machine, I think she feels pretty screwed. Since she changed the stock configuration, that means she can't exchange it, right?

Well, the online store is open every day too. Seriously, if you want the final word, just give Apple a call.

My opinion, the upgrades to the 12-inch are probably worth the restocking fee. The 15, probably not.

Just spoke with my local Apple Store. They are in a mall, so every day is a business day. In other words, no dice.

No, it has to be less than 10 business days from the date you purchased the computer. In my case, the Apple Store was open every day so it was 10 calendar days from the date of purchase.
