...but I love the look of the 12inch screen and feel that the 14inch is fuzzy... as least it was to me before...

I wonder if it got any better.

What makes the screen look brighter and sharper? The resolution? The graphics card? The screen itself.

Having a superdrive would be sweet.

I just think I like the smaller 12 inch size, which leads me to my powerbook v.s ibook dilemma.

Are 14inch owners happy with their choice? Is it too big to take around?

hey man, i cant comment on the 12inch but i just got my first mac and its a 14' ibook. i love the size. i looked at a 12' PC laptop and it just didnt have the screen space i needed. as for the 14 it works very well with any number of windown/apps open. the screen sharpness is great and its super clear but...as i said before i have never seen a 12' ibook. now for the portableness ( made up new word ) its perfect not to big not to small not to heavy at all. i keep it ina laptop bag and my bookbag and it fits in nicely.

i love my 14" its aging, but more than capable for the school whatnot i put it through. i had a 500 ibook for a while, but that time has come and gone. i really like the 14" more. just something about it. maybe its the palmrest (i have big hands) or the screen (i have good eyes, but long arms) something, but it works just fine for me, and portability is not an issue- attached to those big hands and long arms is a 200lb. 6' guy.

just get a good bag for it, and you wont notice the pound of difference between the 12" and the 14"

for some reason the 14" seems more like a standalone computer to me- by that i mean that the 12" always felt like it wasnt enough, almost like i should have a desktop to go home to. purely psychological, i know but still worth noting.

to sum it all up- 14" =
