When I ordered my 867mhz 12" Powerbook I maxed it out to 640MB of RAM at the Apple store. It has 128MB and 512MB RAM sticks. Is it possible to replace the 512 stick with a 1024 stick?

or replace the 128 with a 512?

When i was buying 1GB of ram for my new 12" on crucial, i accidentaly chose the rev. A 12" PBs.

and there was only an option for up to 512mb. So i would think 1GB is not supported or not recommended. Dont know for sure, of course

1 GB works fine. It was just never qualified by Apple or put in a shipping configuration. I'm running with 1.12 GB right now in my rev A 12".

The 128 is soldered on so no way to replace that. At the time the rev A's were released, 1 gig sims were not out yet so the max Apple listed was 640. Check out www.ramseeker.com It is listed as PC 2100 DDR - 200 pin.

Ramseeker and Ramjet were tricky to use but I went to crucial and it listed that type of ram, a 1gig stick, as $425! Ok maybe I'll just stick with my 640MB 512MB goes for $122 so maybe I could sell my existing stick to someone?

Crucial is good memory, but quite expensive. Ramseeker lists a 1 gig stick for your Powerbook for 285 and a 512 stick for about 100. You can also try www.dealram.com
