I have an iBook G3 900Mhz (just before they announced the newer ones)
How much could I get for it?
Where could I trade it in?

ebay is your friend. People pay out the nose for old stuff. I would say you could get at least $700 or maybe even $800 if you have an airport card or max RAM. Best of luck-

do a search on ebay in the forums and read up on the advice.
there are things to watch out for...ebay is full of scam artists..make sure you get paid before shipping etc...keep receipts of shipment etc.
Having said that..the prices for much older ibooks go for surprisingly high amounts.

Dude, that is close to approximately 50% of what I paid for this a few months shy of a year a go! I'm sorry I cannot accept that. I'll just have to keep it then. All I wanna do is get a smaller 12 powerbook.

You might get $1000 or a little over for it considering it is a 14" model. The problem is that it is a G3. Since you bought it, the iBook has been updated with a G4 and is now on a Rev. B. Apple also sells the 14" 900 refurb. for $899 (if I'm not mistaken) from time to time in the Special Deals section at the Apple Store online.
If I were you I would hold on to it and get some use out of it. Considering that you gave $1500 + tax for it and if you have Applecare, Airport and upgraded RAM you probably won't come out on the deal. You have a nice machine and would probably be better off keeping it at this point in the game.
The value will drop but it will level out at a decent price. On eBay people are still giving over $500 for the 500MHz model. I sold my 300MHz Blueberry iBook for $550 not long ago. The good thing about a Mac is the value decreases slowly after it reaches a certain price.
You might want to post your iBook in the Marketplace forum. Just post it as a "feeler". In other words you want to see what they think the value might be. If all you want is a 12" you might be able to make a trade with someone for another iBook. Good luck.

I have a G3 ibook 900 mhz 12 in. I also bought it just a month or so before they brought out the G4 ibook. I was pissed! not much I can do about it though. Mine has maxed out memory, SE ice mouse, carrying case, apple care, and airport card. I was considering putting mine on ebay also.
I guess it works fine for what I use it for, but I really wish it had the airport extreme.

I'm not sold on airport extreme...
I have 2 ibooks: 700mhz G3 and new G4, both 12 inch.
The G4 displays 2 bars... 3 MAX while my 700 ALWAYS shows FULL BARS everywhere in my house... and this is with the extreme base station. Also, the fan on the G4 runs all the time and battery life is much less. And honstly, it's not THAT much faster.. in fact the more I use the G4, the more I like my G3.
