I was about to burn some files from a desktop using
the TiG4 1Ghz - set up a firewire cable and rebooted
the desktop - holding the 'T' key. When I glanced at the
'Ti' I noticed the screen had dimmed to about 90% black.

Still the same after a restart, can see some of the finder,
pull downs and part of the desktop picture etc, but not
enough to see what I'm doing - anyway out of this dark hole ?

After some searching - It seems it may be the Backlight
that has somehow malfunctioned - even the Apple logo
on the case doesn't light up anymore.

This kind of thing always happens on a weekend,
too late do anything about it.

This will be the fifth 'return' in a year -
