Just wondering ... With all of the good deals out there on the previous Powerbook models, should I spend the extra $400 or so to get the newest revision or save money and buy an older model? The speed bump is nice but probably not so substantial that I would really notice.

BTW - this is my first post- I have to say this is one of the best apple forums I've seen- very active and people are really nice.

I say buy a older model, maybe a 1GHz TiBook and save the money for a G5 Powerbook. My 1GHZ is plenty fast for what I do, and I do a lot.

fishj - The question for you is what do you plan on doing with the PowerBook? I agree iOliverC that the older models and even the TiBook 1GHz is a very capable machine, but if you are going to do some intensive stuff like music or video editing, it might be worth the extra money investing in one of the new PowerBooks. Also, if you a buying a PowerBook to make money, remember that time is money and a faster machine means you will finish the job faster.
