powerbook wont wake up with external display KVM

I could close my 12 powerbook and have my lcd hooked in, but now it goes thru a kvm switch to the lcd and when i close the book it wont wake up, i use an external mouse and keyboard also thru the switch? is this a known issue?

A Powerbook must be attached to AC power for it to work with the external display.

Does your KVM switch have its own power transformer, and are you using it?
