I'm thinking of getting a new Powerbook 15" and couldn't decide which one to get. I constantly see Apple have the Refurbish Powerbook 1.25 for $1899 on their site and the new Powerbook 1.33 is available from most places for $2000. Since Apple charges sales tax the refurbish one is gonna cost about the same as the new 1.33. So price being about equal what do you guys think is a better buy? The real differences between the two is that the 1.25 has the 2x superdrive and backlit keyboard and the 1.33 has the new Radeon 9700 and a little faster. I think RAM and Hard Drive are irrelevent. So is it better to get something a little faster or it's better to get the superdrive?

Only you can make that decision really, it depends on what you will use it for. You have all the keys to find the answer.

Good luck, there is no bad choice!

What do you need (or the right word may be want) more?
speed? or the ability to burn DVDs on your laptop anywhere?

I'd choose the model w/ the superdrive. I'd assume it would even have a higher resale value. 1.33 versus 1.25 is probably not noticeable in everyday apps, but with the superdrive you'd have a feature that will allow you to fully use all the iapps and make back ups easier.
