Hello all of you,
In July of last year I got my BigAl Powerbook in the USA. I was happy the pappy with it.
Only shortly after I used it it turned out the superdrive was not working properly. I went to the Apple store and almost whilst i waited they replaced the superdrive (they told me).
After some time it was still playing up (logicboardasnd left fan souns like a coffee grinder every 45 minutes). Back to Apple I went. They told me the repairing would take 10-12 working days as the computer needed to be sent to somewhere in Texas. At that time I did not have the time to do so and walked away. When I went back to them I told them that I was moving residence for my work to New Zealand. So having the computer sent to an address in Texas was not possible as it would never come back to me due to the abrupt move.
The Apple store guys told me that the service of Apple was just as good in that region as in the USA and that i could havethe repairing having done there and they would even replace it with refurbs as in the USA. WRONG WRONG WRONG.
Apple repairs all Powerbooks here in Australasia and only when your logicboard has been replaced three times they might consider give you a new one as they do not deal with refurbs here in Australasia.
My computer has been several tiems to several repair centers. Came back still nto working properly, with a lid that has had a beating as it is now slightly bent and Apple refurses to do one thing.
I do not like to elevate the complaint immediately. Does anybody have a suggestion what to do?
