i was pratting about earlier with my 800mhz g4, i have a load of old apple adverts floating around my hard drive and so tried selecting a load of them and pressing command+o.
to my surprise the little thing was able to run 5 or 6 relatively low detail .mov files at the same time in full motion.
maybe some ppl could tell me how many their mac can? it seems like a fun little way of comparing performance.

you can get all the videos you need at www.theapplecollection.com

just right click and save as under quicktime pro.

any and all contributions appreciated.....

First of all, this is a meaningless benchmark unless everyone uses the exact same files and has the same background processes running. Second, you just encouraged people to pirate something. The people who run this board don't appreciate that.

It is wrong that we have to pay $30, but apple needs that money, and you shouldent steal the upgrade.

Just use MPlayer to play fullscreen, and as for saving from websites, that dosent require QT Pro, if you know what your doing.

Well, I have a G3 800 with 640 in it. I was able to play 4 RVB with no lag. I hope I wasn't breaking any laws or anything by playing free downloads for this. I was just using the regular quicktime anyhow.
