This is more of an annoyance, but it's really been bugging me.

I had to perform a system restore the other day. Now, my PB isn't going to sleep when left idle with the power adaptor plugged in - the white LED isn't pulsating, and computer stays warm. The screen does turn off automatically.

In the power management settings, I have it so that the hard disk shutting down is enabled, etc., even in the power adaptor.

It sleeps fine when running on battery power.

Anything I should be doing, or any special settings I have to tinker with to get the PB to sleep when idle, with the power adaptor plugged in?

Forgive me if this is a newbie question...this is my first Mac

In the Energy Saver preference pane, make sure the "Put computer to sleep" slider is set appropriately under the Power Adapter drop down (in addition to the Batter Power drop down).

Do you know if your PB was able to got to sleep fine prior to the system restore? I'm also having kind of the same problem as you, although I've not tried if it sleep on battery power... see the "Why won't my powerbook sleep?" thread for the issues some others are facing, sounds similar. I wonder if its one of the recent updates that have messed it up... although the problem seems to have been around for quite a while.

I restored the ability of my Powerbook to sleep by deleting the Power Management plist and then restarting.
